This Privacy Policy describes how Jamal Alwassabi, doing business as Trending Home Finds ("we," "us," or "our"), handles information in connection with this website at finds.trendinghomefinds.com (the "Site") and the associated Trending Home Finds Pinterest account. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.
1. WHAT THIS SITE IS
Trending Home Finds is a content site that shares curated home, kitchen, and lifestyle product recommendations on Pinterest. Each pin links back to this Site, and each product on the Site links out to its listing on Amazon. The Site has no user accounts, no login, no comment forms, and nothing for sale directly on the Site itself. The one piece of personal information you can choose to share with us is your email address, through the optional new-finds email signup described in section 2. Product images on the Site are illustrative renders created by us to show each product in use; they are not manufacturer or retailer photographs.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The only personal information we collect is what you choose to give us. We also collect a small amount of anonymous usage data, described below.
- New-finds email (optional). If you sign up for our emails on the Site, we collect the email address you enter, and use it only to send you emails about new products we feature. Signing up is entirely optional; every part of the Site works without it. Submissions are processed and stored by our hosting provider (Netlify), and, when we send emails, by an email service provider acting on our behalf.
- First-party site analytics (anonymous). To understand which products people look at and click, each page sends a small analytics beacon to a collector we run on Google Apps Script, which stores the data in a spreadsheet in our Google account (Google LLC acts as our processor). The beacon records: the page or product viewed, the product whose Amazon link was clicked, the referring site (for example pinterest.com), the date and time, and a random session identifier that exists only in your browser tab (sessionStorage) and is discarded when the tab closes. It does not use cookies, does not record your IP address, name, email, or device fingerprint, and cannot identify you. We keep these aggregate records to measure the Site's performance. Our hosting provider also offers us aggregate, server-side visitor statistics (Netlify Analytics) that set no cookies and are governed by Netlify's privacy policy.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may automatically record standard technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This data is used for operating and securing the Site and is handled under Netlify's privacy policy.
- No advertising tracking. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not run third-party ad networks or third-party analytics scripts on this Site, and the analytics described above are never combined with any personal information.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
An email address you give us through the email signup is used only to send the new-finds emails you asked for. We never sell, rent, or share subscriber email addresses. You can unsubscribe at any time, using the link in any email we send or by contacting us (section 12), and we will delete your address from the list. Beyond that, we do not use, sell, rent, or share any visitor personal information. Technical log data described above is used only to keep the Site available and secure and to comply with law where required. The anonymous analytics described in section 2 are used only to see which products and pages perform well.
4. PINTEREST AND THE PINTEREST API
This Site is part of a Pinterest content account that uses the Pinterest API to publish pins and to read basic account, board, and analytics data for that account.
Trending Home Finds is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pinterest, Inc.
Data obtained through the Pinterest API (such as pin, board, or analytics information) relates only to our own Pinterest account and is used solely to operate and measure this account's own Pinterest presence. It is never sold, shared, or redistributed to any third party.
If the Pinterest account is disconnected from this integration, any Pinterest-derived data held for that purpose is deleted and not retained.
The Pinterest API does not give us access to personal information about visitors to this Site or about other Pinterest users beyond what Pinterest makes available about our own account's content and performance.
5. AMAZON AFFILIATE LINKS
As an Amazon Associate, this account earns from qualifying purchases. Product links on this Site are Amazon affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Once you click through to Amazon, your interaction is governed by Amazon's privacy notice, not this policy. Amazon may use its own cookies to attribute purchases to our affiliate links; those cookies are set by Amazon on Amazon's domains, not by this Site.
6. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
The Site links to third-party websites, primarily Amazon and Pinterest. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
7. DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. A new-finds email address is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Anonymous analytics records contain no personal information and are kept for as long as they are useful for measuring the Site. For Pinterest API data, retention is limited to operating our own account and ends when the integration is disconnected, as described in section 4. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a site of this kind, though no method of transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure.
8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, or certain US states such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah, or Virginia), you may have rights over personal information held about you, including the right to request access to it, correct inaccuracies in it, receive a copy of it, delete it, or object to or restrict its processing. Apart from an email address you may have chosen to give us for new-finds emails, this Site collects no personal information from visitors (the analytics in section 2 are anonymous and cannot be linked to you), so in most cases the only data held about you is that address; unsubscribing (or asking us, section 12) removes it. If you believe we hold any other personal information about you, contact us and we will respond in accordance with applicable data protection law. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unhappy with our response, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. DO-NOT-TRACK SIGNALS
Some browsers offer a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") setting. Because no uniform standard for responding to DNT signals has been adopted, this Site does not respond to them. The Site's only analytics are the anonymous, cookie-free first-party measurements described in section 2, so enabling DNT does not change how the Site behaves.
10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Site is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes take effect when posted.
